Autumn is coming in at full force.
It should be a super busy time on the "farm". What has she been doing? We know what she hasn’t been doing. She hasn't been doing any post-summer clean-up around her shack on the hill. She hasn’t been spending time with all the old friends that got tired of her BS…there are a lot. She hasn’t been dating a new girl. And she hasn’t been writing any interesting quality essays. But really, it’s okay…she shouldn’t worry about it, because nobody really cares what she’s doing anyway. Rehome the animals and you can just carry on.

Emergency dental appointment today. I hate this. It’s so expensive, it’s such a drain on resources that could be pulling me out of foreclosure risk. We live in a country where I have to decide if I want to stop an infection from entering my skull or live in a house.
Some days I regret every decision that lead to this farm and things are only going to get harder.
Be kind to strangers, we’re all dealing with this
Send money...
DeleteJenna's catastrophizing again. What a drama queen.
DeleteHer mortgage is so far below market rate rent at this point her refusal to get a job is insulting to anyone who is currently struggling.
Her "struggle" isn't real. If it were, she'd change her behaviour. It's all a performance for the suckers on the internet.
Delete"we" don't have to live in this country. She is free to leave at any time.
Hey, Jenna! Over the years it’s become apparent that you are ornery, antagonistic, stubborn, oppositional and are never, ever, no-matter-what, going to consider being anything but self-employed. You’re living with the consequences of your decisions. Expressing anger and resentment on the very platforms on which your livelihood depends is not an obvious path to success.
ReplyDeleteShe lives in a country where she could easily get a job due to her education that would provide dental care. She could work at Stewart’s and get dental care.
ReplyDeleteNo excuse!
I actually wonder if she could get a job at Stewart’s if it’s a local store. I can’t imagine that her reputation wouldn’t pose a problem in finding employment in a small town. I guess an overnight shift might work, but only if the store is closed and she worked alone. A supervisor and co-workers would be a problem.
DeleteMight have to check her pockets for streaming devices and cannabis. And, honestly, does she even know how to work? Seen little evidence so far.
DeleteShe has admitted to stealing from Stewart's on her old blog and I'm sure that information spread like wildfire around the community. I bet Stewart's would laugh in her face if she ever tried to apply there.

1/3 of the February mortgage gone in a signature. I still have 11 days. I’m going to give myself a pep talk and by pep talk I mean brownie and sit-and-think.
getting high isn't going to pay the mortgage, but all that weed you consume would help!
DeleteRight Anon 2:56, and she might want to consider not sitting and thinking but working and thinking. She wastes so much time she could be spending making something to sell or being productive in some way. Has she talked about starting her seedlings? hatching chicks to sell, drying herbs to sell etc, etc.

❤️ I hope the dentist wasn’t a complete financial shit show. We all have our hands on your back.

It was. I have 10 days to make it back and avoid risk of losing the farm. I’m trying
Long-time shamsters will remember an earlier dental crisis when well-meaning readers suggested she apply for a financial discount because of "poverty". She became indignant and sniffed she wasn't "poor", she was "broke".
DeletePDD
She really screwed up by not realizing how important her community is to her success. If she were an actual farm/homestead and sold her soap, eggs, veggies, drawings at local markets and local stores, she would be able to easily pay her mortgage. Online sales is not it, especially now that her only social media is Substack.
ReplyDeleteSomeone asked her years ago if she does farmers markets/craft shows and she said no, it's not worth it. She probably did one event, didn't sell much, and wrote it off immediately. Dumbass.
It’s likely that with her rotten reputation she was shunned by the locals. The fact that she avoids eye contact with store clerks tells you how anxiety inducing trying to mingle at an outdoor market would be. Don’t misunderstand, I’m not giving her a pass. She has brought it all on herself. Karma sure is a bitch.
DeleteThe bottom line is she isn't an "actual farm / homestead". It's performative cosplay and an attempt to attract eyeballs whilst playing the victim to get $$$ (pity donations and purchases).
DeletePDD
⬆️⬆️⬆️
DeleteThis.
Farmer cosplay isn’t making her any money.
She is paying someone to shear sheep today and will probably use the wool as mulch in her garden like she does every year.
It’s like she tries to lose $$
Bernard's Farm is just down the road from Jenna's "farm", and the very antithesis of said "farm: - two women working their asses off to grow food, bake bread, and support other local small farms to showcase their soap, olive oil, meats, etc. If she was truly supporting herself through her "farm", she'd have been foreclosed upon years ago. I've always believed that she collects some kind of disability money which is what she actually uses to pay her mortgage. I used to see her around Cambridge and its environs quite a bit, but not so much anymore; she's used up all the kindness, patience, and trust that folks around here were willing to give. All she seems to have now is a false sense of superiority that rubs everyone the wrong way.
DeleteJust another thought. I support local markets and the most successful vendors engage with the clientele in an outgoing and friendly manner. I would steer clear of a surly vendor and having someone with filthy hands handling my food would be a huge turn off. Hiding behind a screen might be her best option after all. A personality transplant might work too.

Someone else in the homesteading/frugal living community recently commented that their healthcare plan is “don’t get sick”. 💀 How did we, as the world’s wealthiest nation, get to this point? It’s ridiculous. Oh wait, the privatization of everything where the only value is profit. Sigh.
I’m glad you won’t have an infection in your skull!

Not from that tooth! But another tooth beside it is currently infected. It gets seen in April for a scan to see if we can save it
At least she won’t have teeth to worry about when she’s living under the bridge.
Deleteoh shoot, I've got to update the dental tracker. FFS, if this was actually an issue she should just get dentures.
DeleteShe has dental issues on rotation. She just cycles through her money makers when she feels like it's been long enough and she wants a little extra money.
DeleteHere’s a thought. If a visit to the dentist cleaned out her bank account wouldn’t it be prudent to defer the sheep shearing until her cash flow picked up? Of course that would mean a missed photo op promoting her pretend farm. Does she really think people can’t see through her deception? Or wait, maybe those weren’t her sheep. All of the photos were closely cropped without any background. What a con.
ReplyDeleteTop left in the photos. Nobody else would have that crappy mess of fencing so it has to be hers. I'm surprised it holds anything in. Oh wait....it doesn't.
DeleteIn her latest 'essay' she talked about Friday trying to dig up the dead pigs buried on the property. Dead pigs? Plural. Did I miss something?
ReplyDeleteI must have been caught up on her poisoning herself on her own chicken and then offering this chicken to a documentary maker visiting her ( who was vegan) bizarre story and of course lots of begging at the end of the “essay”
Deletewhat??? I must have missed something too, wth? why would there be multiple dead pigs buried on the property???
DeleteShe must have edited it out? I don't see the mention in her essay of dead pigs buried on the property.
DeleteThe bit about the dead pigs was in the audio version. It’s so bizarre.
DeleteAnother bizarre essay, with old retread stories, demonstrating overall incompetence and disorganization. No wonder the land was contaminated, and there's been a preponderance of diseased and dead animals on her property. And yet again, she's turned active neglect and ignorance into pleas for pity purchases. Shockingly, if she's to be believed, she acquired customers and subscribers from this latest beg.
DeleteSubStack readers seem even more naive than Twitter people. Doesn't anyone check the reputation and background of people before sending their hard-earned money?
As PT Barnum said, there's a sucker born every minute.
She counts on the fact that there are a lot of suckers out there. I find the audio versions so revealing since she loves to hear herself talk and stuff slips out that isn’t in the text version. Honestly, she sounds deranged, giggling her way through the narrative, revelling in her own incompetence. I’m always embarrassed for her. She makes such a fool of herself. I’m guessing that she is high when she records these things since they are always a hot mess.
DeleteEO. I can’t handle hearing her abrasive, arrogant voice. It’s the antithesis of soothing.

Apologies for the promotional emails! I won’t send any more for a good while. It’s a high risk/reward crapshoot sending clutter to an inbox and if I’m a stranger to you still, it must be a lot. Here’s a cat using taxidermy to look for mice, as an apology

Respectfully, stuff your sorries in a sock and burn that shit. No apologies for being human. Fuck internalized shame, and so on. There’s nothing wrong with you as you are in any moment. Respectfully. I say this to myself and my friends. Some of us love Real. You're a beautiful real human, and the world is a better place because you are being yourself in it.

That’s very kind. I felt like I did something wrong because of all the unsubscribes I got. I need to remind myself these unsubs may have nothing to do with me personally, people are overwhelmed. Onward!
There’s nothing that’s “real” about being a beggar. “The world is a worse place with Wog in it.” Fixed it for ya.

I want to add that it sucks for you that for your farm to survive, you need to find a niche where people like you well enough to put money down. It truly sucks. I'm sorry.

True, but that’s every writer who ever lived! I think on substack very few people are depending entirely on their writing to pay the bills, and some readers take offense if you’re asking for payment and other writers would never- I figure my people will find me. It’s why I offer comped subs for free for anyone who wants them if they plan on paying when they can someday
Susanna is another stupid sycophant like Rachel Keane.

it’s my choice! I could sell the farm if I wanted, quit, or do anything else. But this is what I’m going to keep doing until I can’t, and that does make my writing sharper, at least to me!

One can’t be both victim and victor at the same time. It causes cognitive dissonance.

Cold Antler Farm
Good morning from Cold Antler Farm. Starting to earn the March mortgage today, and my goal is to make it before April 15th, so I have an extra week to try to catch up.
I’m trying to write work here on substack so raw and well crafted people can’t help but support this place.
I know realistically, the chances of people finding, reading, and supporting this gin joint is one in a thousand, but I’m writing for that one person in a thousand. Stakes are high here, I’m literally betting the farm on it.
Wish me luck. There is no plan B. Never has been. I wrote that page over a decade ago…
This has been deleted as well.
DeleteThe coward often deletes her crap after being called out in our comments. Fortunately, we keep track of the truth here. So that there’s a record of her abhorrent behavior and actions.
DeleteShe has to be shamed into removing evidence of her own stupidity.
DeleteWow, just "wow". Someone actually wrote that stuff? I'll leave it to you other people more clever that I to break it all down.
ReplyDeleteThe last sentence " Creator, not victim." REALLY?? Jenna is always playing victim! SM must not have been reading for very long or looked into any kind of background on Miss W.
Only a lazy no-account loser would spend decades telling complete strangers across multiple platforms that she needs money because she has no “plan B”. Like it’s no fault of her own.
ReplyDeleteUh, Jenna, we shop at the same Walmart and NOBODY is commenting on your shirt. Such a weirdo!!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine Jenna in a conversation about farming with a real farmer? I’ll tell you this for free. It would be a short one!
ReplyDeleteJenna wrote a post about bell hooks and can't even write her name correctly. So disrespectful!
ReplyDeleteWog has been, and likely will always be, monumentally self-absorbed and without genuine respect or empathy for others. Why should she correctly write bell hooks' name?

I feel like on a bit of a lighter note to get away from the whole Jenna drama, the two retro albums I have been listening to lately is probably "Future Games" and "Bare Trees" by Fleetwood Mac (1971 and 1972) and of course, this was before Buckingham and Nicks joined. I kind of dig the whole rustic feel both albums have, with the latter having two of my favorite FM songs, "Sentimental Lady" (solo hit for Bob Welch years later) and "Spare Me a Little of Your Love."
ReplyDeleteAs someone who has only recently discovered the Bob Welch years of Fleetwood Mac, both albums kind of deserve a listen. Rustic, ethereal and spacey is what I'd describe their early '70s sound. All I can do is just gaze into the misty countryside to the strains of "Sentimental Lady."
"Sentimental gentle wind, blowing through my life again, sentimental lady, gentle one..."
French Kiss is one of my favorite albums. "Carolene" is amazing. And don't forget "Ebony Eyes."
DeleteJenna just posted a photo on substack (in the notes section) of what I can only guess is pancakes? Her food always looks so disgusting!
ReplyDeleteShe recycles pics and I feel like she’s posted that one before. There’s snow out the window and unless she has snow up on her “mountain” the snow melted a while ago and it’s in the 60’s today locally. I live in her neck of the woods and there’s no snow which makes me think it’s an old photo.
DeleteShe eats terribly and her food always looks gross.
Surprised she didn’t delete this one.

At the rate things are going, me quitting my office job to live on a farm with natural spring water instead of a 401k feel less risky than everyone warned…
Except: you have your tin can out to the internet ever month to pay your bills and never ending dental work.
What a POS. With the potential for community suffering growing, another social media influencer recently talked about planting larger gardens to help the local community, but self-centered Wog brags about personal advantages, like artesian well water.

One time last year I actually paid 3 different dating apps to weed out men, ENM, poly people, couples looking for a third, conservatives, moderates, “non politicals”, parents of young children, pet haters, heavy drinkers/smokers, and evangelicals.
The only person left was me.
Well aware, I’m the problem, not them.
However, I am still moving forward with my happiness. I’m installing chicken feet on my house and getting a babushka.
Yeah, we know that you’re “the problem.” She’s become the Cambridge area Baba Yaga.

Good morning from Cold Antler Farm. Brakes went on the Subaru so Angus is working on repairs and seeing what’s still under warranty. Mondays.
Jenna’s patterns are predictable, once you start to see them. She’ll recycle fabricated crises until fools give funds to her.
DeleteI recall last year when she boasted about “I’m going to start a savings account!!!” Why hasn’t that happened yet, Jenna?
DeleteIt’s no one else’s responsibility to support a middle-aged moron, whose had her hands out for help way too long.
Normal adults have either savings or credit cards, so that they can pay for when emergency expenses come up. They don’t disclose to total strangers each time something goes wrong. The way that Wog does.
DeleteHere’s another lie. Jenna has always had a “Plan B.” It’s called being a beggar.
DeleteI’m sure she’ll delete this.

I see a lot of people here declaring how they’re never going to charge for their writing, that money has nothing to do with art, etc. I’m not arguing, but let me offer one counterpoint.
I wrote a free blog for nearly 20 years. Because no one was paying, I published whatever I wanted, sometimes writing entirely on fumes without much care. The writing was often raw (in a bad way) and desperate. My story was interesting, so some readers stayed with me regardless.
But once I switched to substack and got that first paying subscriber, I realized people had invested more than time. Money is hard to come by these days, and it meant a lot someone believed in me enough to part with it. And because of it I cared about my work more.
Now I’m practicing the best craft of my life. People paying demands a level of quality, effort, and community accountability I’ve never achieved writing for free. I’m more disciplined, deliberate, and reading more too. I’ve never had more dignity as a professional in my life.
I can now say “I’m a writer” with a straight face. I couldn’t do that a few years ago, even with 6 published books. I told people I was a farmer if they asked.
So don’t knock what motivates people. My subscribers are getting all of me, the best writing of my life, and helping save this farm from foreclosure. It’s the reason I haven’t given up and none of it would’ve happened without strangers putting skin in the game.
I'm a paid subscriber to other substacks for the same amount jenna charges, and they produce 1-2 fun essays per week for paid subscribers, plus another free one. Jenna hasn't even bothered to write her last paid post - she's recorded a podcast.
DeleteCue to a countdown until the coward deletes her crap. Jenna refuses to accept any “accountability” for her actions. Her rotten writing is crap not “craft.” It requires no “dignity” to be a beggar who has lied about everything for decades.
DeleteWatch her write an essay in response to the comment above. “Dance, little monkey!”
Delete“I can now say “I’m a writer” with a straight face. I couldn’t do that a few years ago, even with 6 published books. I told people I was a farmer if they asked.”
DeleteIt makes no sense if her degree was in graphic design, that Jenna would tell people that she farmed for a living. Her poor parents must be mortified that their thousands of dollars were wasted on a college education. She can’t tell the truth “with a straight face,” because her whole life is lies.
Jenna also had to mention her fake fear of foreclosure to try and elicit empathy for funds.
DeleteShe should stick to just posting written essays. Listening to her reading them is like hearing a sixth grader give a speech. She over emphasizes every word in an effort to sound earnest. It’s beyond annoying. It makes me wonder if she even listens to herself before she posts. Her voice is abrasive as it is but if she would read the thing in a normal voice instead of hurling every word at the listener it might be more palatable. Stumbling over her own writing and mispronouncing words is unprofessional for someone who calls themselves a writer. I suspect that she records it in one take without editing her mistakes which is bad form. The reason I continue use to listen is because she lets things slip when she goes on a rant which I find hilarious and illuminating especially when she contradicts herself in the same (run on) sentence.
DeleteSFF, I suspect she has AI write the more coherent parts of her essays (although I'm sure that when she waxes poetic about how brave she is for paying the mortgage, that's all her). That might be why she stumbles over and mispronounces words - they aren't her own!
DeleteSFF. I agree with you. I also noticed that you’re using the old name again. I like both of them, but Eleven Orgasms cracks me up.
DeleteReverting to the old name was accidental. Like Wog, I neglected to proofread since both come up. Old habits eh?
ReplyDeleteEO. Thanks for your reply. I wrote the comment at 4:33. What you said makes sense!
DeleteGet ready for a big ol’ sob story and bag a thon. Jenna hasn’t posted anything in 24 hours to her “notes”. She usually posts every disgusting meal, and fart she makes throughout the day.
ReplyDeleteTeeth? Car? Animals? What will be the trouble du jour??
