I'm not saying….
….I understand anything about her but… I do not understand about the whole cake mix thing. She says she will bake a cake…with this cake mix…if she gets some arbitrary number of subscribers. The whole thing is so stupid I don't have the capacity to even try to think about it. The main question is Who Cares? Is there someone in the world that will subscribe so she can bake a cake? What if she lies and bakes the cake any way?……yeah, okay…WHO CARES? Is this what passes as content nowadays? We're doomed.
Jenna’s latest beg post says she wants to be successful so she can help other farmers! I know this is a pile of b.s. because what is she doing NOW. There are many non financial ways to support other farmers and she isn’t doing anything. She is not involved in her community whatsoever. She wants you to buy a share of her pork to donate to the local food pantry, which we know isn’t allowed, and she would know that if she had the most basic involvement with them. Does she donate anything to the food pantry? Of course not. If anything she takes from them. Maybe that’s where she got that Dolly Parton cake mix from lol. Her idea of community service a few years back was volunteering her time washing glasses at a bar! She is batshit crazy and has no idea how to help other people because she can’t think beyond her own wants/needs. Piece of shit human who will never change.

I'm not talking about the cities, such as Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, etc, I'm talking about the poorer areas of the country, such as the rural Kansai region, where she would try working in the rice paddies, then complain about being bitten by a snake... or a monkey. Yeah, when I went to experience Japanese farm life, they'd keep a ton of roosters and dogs to scare off monkeys, as well as go to extreme measures to protect beehives from giant hornets. When they said Japan was different to the US, they weren't kidding.

Jenna's been whining about her ankle without actually doing anything about it - going to physio etc. You don't *need* your ankle to ride, some stirrup less work would have helped her core lol.
But no stirrup tuesdays is not for Jenna. She's not a dedicated equestrian, she just likes pasture decorations. That in itself isn't bad, just stop pretending you're a "farmer" when you just buy animals, stick them in the field, and do the legal bare minimum for them.

DeleteI don't mind a lot of urbanites that currently live rural lives, I was born and raised in NYC before moving to central Kentucky, where I own two horses, a white Swiss Shepherd dog and a cat, plus I hunt and do volunteer work on various farms. I was also surprised that J.P. Pennington and Les Taylor of the pop rock/country group Exile also visited my area... and I had a chance to meet both of them. What can I say? I don't feel lonely. Once good rural living takes over your life, the more people want to be friends with you.

DeleteWholeheartedly agree. It very much reminds me of that story which happened last year involving a man who quit his job to ride a horse from Texas to Washington. And just like that man, Jenna is probably using fantasy films/TV shows like Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, as well as westerns as an inspiration, when in reality, the horses were treated badly behind the scenes due to the actors not knowing how to ride properly. Yanking on the bit and whipping the horse does not make you a good rider. Same thing with a reliance on stirrups and reins for balance.
ReplyDeleteHell, I have even tried riding tame bulls and oxen, but they didn't buck me off because I was so patient. Kindness is key for bonding with large livestock animals.
I also recently adopted a Belgian draft mule, and she is such a sweet gal. I actually find it much easier to ride mules, since all four gaits are much smoother to sit through, making it more enjoyable to canter through the countryside with the wind whipping through your face. She's probably one of the best animals I have ever taken care of, period.
ReplyDeleteOMG a belgian draft mule!!!! I LOVE THEM!!!! I rode a beautiful muley named Concrete who was just the best girl. Sweet, calm, unflappable, confident, strong, patient, kind. Oh and HUGE. Rode her once while visiting a family friend and just fell in love, I was a little rude as I spent most of the rest of that day with Concrete instead of the humans, but they forgave me as Concrete loved attention.

She lived to be over 30 years old, and has a marked burial site on their property. Mules are so underrated.
Oh she did everything too. Western, (neck reining and direct) she packed, ponied, she drove. They even had an old dressage saddle to throw on her once in a while. She could do flying lead changes, but she didn't love arena work I'm told, and as they didn't have an arena on the property her life consisted of more practical tasks, including being trusted to pull the 2-seater cart with the great-aunt driving (which she did into her 80s) and of course putting up with the kids learning to ride on her first, before moving on to their own purpose-bought competition horses. A lot of horses passed through their small stable but Concrete stayed for life.

Older Shamsters may remember, there was a video that PP posted a long time ago, with Wog sitting on top of PP's draft horse, yanking on his bit, kicking him in the side and yelling "I'm not afraid of you" or some such nonsense. I've said in the past, if Wog tried that with one of my horses, her fat rump would be on the ground in a quick second: because of me or my horse.

Well, we made it. I swear, reading her poems is like listening to a Dan Fogelberg album thanks to the overly-amateurish usage of words. I do consider him as one of my favorite "guilty pleasure" music artists, mostly because a lot of his mid-70s work sounded like Gordon Lightfoot mixed with transitional-era Fleetwood Mac, but at the same time, he was pretty much another adult contemporary artist that was easy to ignore/overlook.

In her podcast ep about Friday she mentions Friday has dental pain. Does she take the pup to the vet? OF COURSE NOT! She claims she boils her rawhide chews to soften them and then coats it in peanut butter as Friday's "good girl treat".
ReplyDeleteSo, rawhide chews aren't typically recommended anymore for dogs because they're a massive choking hazard, and boiling them to soften it makes it moreso, but whatever. It's amazing any of her animals live long enough to get old given their minimal food / care.
I heard that! WTF! And apparently Becca is visiting the week of Jenna's birthday to - get this - help Jenna with chores that "take two people to do" like "mucking the chicken coop" and "trimming hedges" - WHAT!? LOL!

The farm labor apparently is a diversion of sorts, a change of pace for Becca. A cheap "farm vacation". Being used for free labor is ok if you're willing and able, but don't insult our intelligence about what is really going on. We know who is benefiting the most out of this deal.
rawhide chews are about the cheapest dog treat you can get. I don't think pet stores sell them anymore due to the chocking issues, I think you can only get them from dollar stores now.

One has an equine operation with a few different programs including an advanced lesson program, breeding, and training / boarding, and my ex has a potato farm she bought with money she earned working on the patch (northern alberta oil patch.)
The potato farmer doesn't expect potatoes to pay her bills, in fact they barely pay for themselves. She makes money as a bnb doing farm stays. She's also an in-demand potter, when she drops a new collection in instagram it sells out the same day.
I would like to specify that neither ex has ever, ever mentioned their mortgage online or in person, or shown any indication of instability, though I'm sure like everyone they've had challenges to overcome.

I did like the last line, "nothing you take from me will give you more time," but it's a repetition of one of Jenna's main mental crutches which is that people who disagree with her on something, whether it's animal husbandry or how she manages her finances, rather than looking inward EVER she throws it back without thought. It's that other person's issue. The "old man" in her poem - clearly her father by the way and remember, her mother reads this stuff - the "old man" has the problem, he's afraid of death which is why he is a republican.
